Off-the-shelf mocap is cheap because it carries no training rights
MoCap Online sells cleaned optical motion capture at $0.15 to $1 per animation in packs, but its licence requires prior written permission for any AI use and its FAQ answers 'No' to AI or machine learning; studio capture costs $50 to $200 or more per clip. The gap is the price of training rights plus custom capture.
